[:en]There is no greater feeling than knowing that in one way or another you have impacted and even helped change the life of someone who\u2019s story would have remained the same had you not done something.<\/em> The small things that we take for granted are the very things that other\u2019s need to make their futures brighter and survive in a world that\u2019s opening up faster than ever before, case in point, learning English. It is also a privilege to realize that you come from a place of privilege and see beyond that by coming out and helping those who are most in need.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>This past week we saw a buzz of activities at our various schools<\/strong> where our volunteers from all walks of life came out to support us in their various capacities by facilitating a week full of wonderful interactions and learning. The main aim of our interactions being to make sure that the migrant children got the most out of the classes while having fun. As MCF we try to ensure that the same materials are delivered differently but in a way that the students can understand and have something to take home.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

For the MC<\/span>F South Infants School<\/span> we had the students make and color friend paper chains, flowers, pets and Mexican sombreros as part of their lessons. Meanwhile, older students at the MCF South School <\/span>had the amazing opportunity of being taught computer skills and English by our Beijing City International School Kids\u2019 Club<\/span> members for the second week running. These members came up with a meaningful syllabus that combines these two important skills and they successfully delivered it in a very creative and engaging manner which the children really enjoyed.<\/p>\n

Our Tongzhou School <\/span>also had passionate volunteers from Canadian School (CISB)<\/span> and Dulwich\u2019s Kids\u2019 Club <\/span>who mainly focused on enhancing the children\u2019s listening skills through games and fun interactions as well as teaching them action verbs with a game of hop, crawl, run, stop which helps them learn about simple directs.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>We would really love to thank the kid\u2019s club volunteers as well as all the volunteers who ensure that the curriculum is meticulously planned, prepared and taught with no glitches at the MCF East School<\/span> as well and the MCF West Infants Schoo<\/span>l where the younger students had an interactive story telling session, singing English songs, learning Phonics and coloring.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The highlight of the week though has to be Fan Fan<\/em><\/strong> rocking his new teacher\u2019s sunglasses while wearing the biggest smile, expressing how happy he was. He restarted his horse riding lessons at Horses Offering People Enrichment (HOPE)<\/strong> which he obviously enjoys and also had an exciting time learning about colors with Carmen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Special appreciation to all our interns, volunteers, Kid\u2019s Club members,<\/p>\n

Hadley<\/strong><\/span> for her hard work in coordinating the curriculum,<\/p>\n

Harry<\/strong><\/span> and his team for their dedication and HOPE<\/strong><\/span> for their continued support.<\/p>\n

We are looking forward to an even better week ahead.<\/p>\n
